The department of Mechanical Engineering organized an industry ESSTO Engineering Unit-II, Manufacturer visit on 22nd February 2023. Located near Memari, West Bengal, the industry is one of the leading manufacturers of ISI LOGO, supporting arbor and cutting tools. A total of 23 students from 3rd year, Mechanical Engineering Dept. attended the visit.
In the beginning, students were welcomed heartily by the factory manager. After that, there was a brief presentation about the company and its growth. It was informed the company extensively uses Wire EDM machines over brass materials to manufacture various components and machine tools such as HSS, graphite and CBN. Gradually the business head guided the students to their shop floors and discussed in detail the various production operations and engineering. During the visit, the following sections were covered.
- Wire Cut EDM machine shop.
- Parting and Brazing Shop.
- CNC lathe machine and manual lathe machine shop
- Cutting Tool manufacturing shop.
Students gained experiential knowledge about the production system of cutting tools and operation of EDM, CNC lathe, parting, brazing etc through hands-on experience.
