Welcome to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at JIS College of Engineering.

Vision

The Computer Science and Engineering Department at JIS College of Engineering will be a leader in computing innovation through excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, active research programs and the dissemination of knowledge. The Department will leverage both the international and interdisciplinary nature of computing.

Mission

The Department's Mission is to :
(i)Provide students and faculty members with an open environment that encourage professional and personal growth.
(ii)Prepare students for flexible career paths and continuing advancement in computing through its academic programs.
(iii)Motivate and encourage the students to build a successful careers in the computing professions through flexible programs of study that can be adapted to support individual career goals.

Program Educational Objectives Statements

PEO 1:

Graduates will be engineering practitioners and leaders, who would assist to resolve industry's technological problems.

PEO 2:

Graduates will be engineering professionals, innovators or entrepreneurs engaged in technology development, technology deployment, or engineering system implementation in industry and research institute.

PEO 3:

Graduates will interact with their peers in other disciplines in industry and society and contribute to social awareness and the economic growth of the country.

PEO 4:

Engineering    knowledge:   Apply    the   knowledge   of   mathematics,    science,    engineering
fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex  engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,
natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

 

PO3

Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

 

PO4

Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the
information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern
engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

Post Graduate

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of M.Tech in CSE :
PEO 1 : To produce a proficient set of human resource whichwill bewell equipped to contribute to the research & development (R&D) effectively towards the advancement of Computer Science and Engineering applications and development ofinnovative systems and optimized solutions.
PEO 2 :To Enhance relevant skills and adapt new computing technologies for the attainment of professional excellence.
PEO 3 : To work collaboratively on multidisciplinary projects with higher level of both professional and ethical values within the organizationand the society as a whole.
PEO 4 : To impart knowledge and skills to analyze, design, develop, test and implement various software and engage in life-long learning.

After completion of PG degree student will be able :
PO 1: To apply the knowledge of mathematics, basic science, and computer science for evaluation, analysis, synthesis, modelling and integration of different technologies towards the development of novel computer systems for applied engineering.
PO 2: To provide optimized solutions by framing and realizing analytical tools for impending issues in the realm of computer science and engineering.
PO 3: To design and develop efficient systems to fulfill the basic requirements of the society, considering economic, environmental, and ethical issues.
PO 4: To work on complex problems through investigative and research oriented studies, and contribute efficiently to the advancement of technological knowledge and intellectual property.
PO 5: To use the latest technologies, skills, and modern engineering tools, including simulation and modeling, for addressing engineering problems.

The Computer Science and Engineering department has the certification of NPTEL, Swayam. Our college is a local chapter of this certification.
